Electronic fuel injection (EFI) uses information from sensors around the engine to control how much and how fast fuel is delivered to the combustion chamber.The computer controlling this loop uses a set of condtions and reactions called a 'fuel map'. More interestingly, this map can be modified to improve performance, fuel economy or adjust for modifications made to the vehicle.
